Sami languages Lapp Lapp is a Finno-Ugric language, originating from the common proto-Baltic-Finnic and for that reason they are its closest kindred languages. The Sami (Lapp) Language Branch Language: Northern Sami, Southern Sami, Inari, Skolt, and Kola. Other dialects include Ume, Pite, Lule, Kemi (Extinct), Akkala, Kildin and Ter. The Lapp Culture Is Different The Lapp culture, or Sami culture, is what most people from around the world connect with Lapland.
